Walk into any HEB grocery store in August and you’ll be inundated with signs preaching Hatch Chile season. The prime season for these New Mexico peppers goes from August to early September, so fans of a little spice stock up and use them for sauces, smoke them, put them in a nice casserole like BurgerMary did. Oh, and put them into beer.
I actually prefer pepper beers to you know, be spicy. Some people just like the flavor of the pepper, but don’t like the heat. Either way, here are some Texas beers using hatch chilies either in the brewing process, or infusing them as needed. Did we miss one? Let us know in the comment section and we’ll add it to the list!
