Texas Seasonal Brew: Oktoberfest
Texas Oktoberfest Beer
While walking the aisles of various stores selling tasty beverages, it’s hard to accept that fall is right around the corner. Mostly because it’s Texas and it is over 100 degrees outside in late August. The glimmer of hope of cooler temps is only helped by the blue and white colors on labels you sometimes see on Oktoberfest style beers.
Oktoberfest beer is a delicious welcome to the change in season, and it’s a beverage perfect for a hearty meal. Pairing well with something as basic as a chewy, warm pretzel, or a yummy turkey leg, this particular style is lucky enough to have a handful of Texas brewers crafting this beverage that has been around since before refrigeration
Here are some amazing Texas brews featured in Oktoberfest styles:
Perdenales Brewing Company (Fredericksburg)
Shiner (Shiner)
Rahr & Sons (Fort Worth)
Real Ale Brewing (Blanco)
Saint Arnold Brewing Company (Houston)
Live Oak Brewing Company (Austin)
Franconia Brewing Company (McKinney)
